MAY RECAP: Pop Up shops, a record breaking month + a little bit of travel

May has been an amazing month for me, both personally and professionally! As a small business owner and full-time illustrator, I'm over the moon to say that this month has been a record-breaker for my business. We had a pop-up shop at the Indiana Peony festival that was a huge success. It was so wonderful to meet so many incredible people as well as some wonderful people that I’ve connected with on Instagram and finally had the chance to meet in person. It was wonderful to see thousands of people come to the festival to enjoy the day and support locally owned businesses. Making friends with business owners from around the state was a privilege, and I even got to be festival neighbors with one of my own clients and it couldn’t have been more fun. This month’s excitement also included our most profitable course launch to date, the CEA program. To top it all off, we had our most profitable shop sale to date, with all products being peony and Indiana-themed as a post-festival sale. And that's not all! My husband and I took a weekend getaway to Hard Truth Distilling Co. to relax and enjoy some time in Brown County, one of our favorite places in Indiana. We also road tripped to Wisconsin to visit family, which was much needed joyful time with our loved ones. In this post, I'll share more about all the exciting things that happened this month, keep reading for the highlights of May!

This month was packed with A LOT, I probably packed a little bit too much into this month, but it was worth it! I prayed over two launches that have been incredibly special to me, my wedding service line and my new program for small business owners, the Creative Entrepreneur Accelerator. I am welcoming a group of students to this program with a grateful heart. Grateful for their trust and the opportunity to mentor. This has been my most profitable launch to date and I am filled with excitement to lead this group and help guide them towards growing their small businesses, because we all need a little help on the road to reaching our goals.

The Peony Festival this year completely blew me away. Meeting so many of you, all the kindness you shared with me, all the purchases at the festival and orders in the online sale--I was fully not prepared for that. I can't thank you enough for the part you play in allowing me to live out my small biz dreams. This year's festival was a joyful & exhausting day and by the end of it I felt like my legs were going to give out on me at any second from standing from 6am-4pm. Immediately after, we drove home and got cleaned up for a wonderful wedding--I felt like a mess, but hey, there's nothing a little dry shampoo can't fix!

I think we clean up pretty well considering we had been up since 5am at this point haha!

I got to see my artwork displayed around downtown Noblesville and Seminary Park that I had spent months creating to promote the festival!

We also had a wonderful weekend getaway in one of our favorite places, Hard Truth Distilling Co. The cozy cabin was an absolute dream and we had a blast touring the property and enjoying various drinks and specialty cocktails. Our tour guides were incredible. We can't wait to go back.

This was my first 5-figure month as a business owner, I am still in shock over it. I wouldn't be here without the Lord leading me to the right opportunities and leading me away from the wrong ones. In the chaos and excitement of the success of this month, I continue to feel a nudge on my heart from the Holy Spirit to be intentional with my time. To be intentional about spending time with the Lord. None of this works if Jesus ain't in it. I continue to pray that Jesus would always be at the center of this business and my life. Thank you for being here and for following along with my journey!
